Sample Letter Announcing the End of the Read-a-thon

Dear Parent,

As the Books and Beyond Read-a-thon comes to an end, we would like to thank all of you who have encouraged your children to read recreationally. This letter is a reminder that the last day to turn in reading record sheets is ________________. During the last two weeks of the read-a-thon, no more than one record sheet per week will be accepted. If your child is close to receiving a gold medal, please encourage him or her to read the additional ______ (books, pages, or minutes) necessary to achieve this distinguished honor.

Again, thank you for your support and cooperation during the program. We ask that you continue to support your child's recreational reading.
